Sight is the sense people fear losing the most. With more than two million people in the UK living with visual impairments, it's important for us all to understand how to take better care of our eyes and prevent unnecessary sight loss.

Vision is one of the most important senses. Everyone can think about how to improve their eye health now but also in the future. Even younger people can get problems with their eyes and there are lifestyle factors which you can adopt earlier in life to make sure your eye health is as good as it can be for as long as it can be.

Our eyes are remarkable organs; however, they can encounter various conditions that affect our vision. Diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration are often associated with getting older but there are actions which we can take now to prevent disease.

Good metabolic health is linked to our eyes; controlling glucose levels can decrease dry eye disease. Your metabolic health also plays a role in the development of cataracts, by maintaining stable blood glucose levels which reduce the risk.
