Community Event Puts Women’s Health Front and Centre
In a meaningful and fascinating evening hosted at Combe Grove in Bath, Sulis Hospital delivered a compelling public information session on “Why Women’s Health Matters: From Research to Results with Leading Experts,” offering guests valuable insights from specialist speaker.
The Oak Room was busy for our educational event in March, with a good turnout of people who joined us for refreshments before we got started. It was clear from the buzz in the room that there was a real need for straightforward, honest advice on women's health. Many guests came for more than just facts; they wanted genuine information on the menopause that they could trust.
The session, led by Dr Philippa Girling, GP Menopause Specialist from Sulis Hospital, provided a clear and compassionate exploration of menopause, outlining its symptoms, stages, and impact. Dr Girling’s explanations helped demystify the often complex changes associated with menopause and offered guests practical, accessible guidance and advice.
The conversation continued with a thoughtful Q&A, where guests shared everything from insightful observations to deeply personal questions.
The discussion covered a lot of ground, ranging from how to spot early signs to practical ways of managing daily symptoms. It was clear that these topics - which don't get talked about nearly enough - really hit come, highlighting just how different the menopause transition can look for everyone.
By the end of the evening, Sulis Hospital had turned the Oak room into a real hub of learning - leaving everyone who attended much better informed and more confident in their understanding of the journey ahead.
For those who missed the event, Sulis Hospital encourages continued engagement through follow-up resources, appointments with the appropriate specialist and future sessions aimed at promoting women's health and metabolic health.
