Sulis Hospital Bath: Proud LaingBuisson Award Finalists

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Sulis Hospital Bath has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2026 LaingBuisson Awards.

Nominated in the "Innovators and Leaders for Public-Private Partnership" category, this recognition celebrates the hospital's pioneering collaboration with the Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

Reinvesting in Your Care

What makes this partnership so unique is our structure. Sulis Hospital is a wholly owned subsidiary of the RUH. Unlike traditional outsourcing models, this integrated setup allows independent sector facilities to function as a direct extension of public healthcare. Combining public sector clinical leadership with independent sector agility to reduce local waiting times and expand diagnostic care.

Crucially, this commercial success directly supports frontline healthcare. Every single penny of profit generated from private care is reinvested right back into local public healthcare.

We are incredibly proud to project that £1 million will be reinvested directly into NHS services from our 2025/26 operations alone.

"Being named a finalist is a momentous achievement and I want to say a huge thank you to our incredible, hardworking teams across both organisations who make this innovative blueprint for the future of healthcare possible," says Simon Milner, Hospital Director at Sulis Hospital. "This nomination highlights how successfully we have combined public sector accountability with independent agility proving that commercial success can directly support and strengthen public healthcare when it is needed most."

This nomination belongs to every member of our multidisciplinary teams and demonstrates how creative partnerships can deliver a sustainable, efficient model for the future of the NHS.
