Mr Jonathan Quayle studied Medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities prior to serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps. After completing his orthopaedic training, he specialised in Hip and Knee Surgery on fellowships at North Shore Hospital, Auckland and the Joint Reconstruction Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
Following this, Mr Quayle took a substantive post at Salisbury Foundation Trust where he teaches orthopaedic trainees and runs the day case arthroplasty and enhanced recovery programs.

Mr Quayle’s main clinical interests include joint preserving surgery, partial knee replacements, minimally invasive surgery and personalised knee replacement alignment. He also performs revision joint replacements, patella stabilisations and treats knee sports injuries.
Mr Quayle’s is involved in research and teaching. He has published widely in several peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals on hip, knee and trauma surgery including key papers on preventing infection in joint replacement surgery. Jonathan has presented his work nationally and internationally. He continues to enjoy teaching the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and runs a course on peri-prosthetic fracture management with a charity called Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK).
He is currently a principal investigator on the Multi-Centre PART Trial investigating the role of patella resurfacing in knee replacement surgery.
