Miss Lucy Simmons is a highly regarded Consultant Urological Surgeon with specialist expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. She is nationally recognised for her work in minimally invasive and prostate-sparing treatments, including High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) an advanced option that can treat prostate cancer while helping to preserve quality of life.
Miss Simmons completed her medical degree at Newcastle University and her surgical training across the South West of England, including Bristol and Bath. She also undertook specialist fellowship training in prostate diagnostics and focal therapy at University College London, one of the UK’s leading centres for prostate cancer innovation.
At the Royal United Hospital in Bath, she leads the South West Regional Focal Therapy Service for Prostate Cancer, providing expert care for men across the region. She also works nationally to help develop pathways that improve access to new, less invasive treatments.
Miss Simmons is widely published in her field and regularly invited to speak at national meetings about focal therapy, MRI-targeted biopsy, and shared decision-making in prostate cancer. She remains at the forefront of research and innovation, helping to introduce new technologies that improve outcomes for men with prostate cancer.
