Breast implant removal
Breast implants have a natural lifespan and need replacing every 7 to 10 years on average.
Women who faced the choice of implant replacement may wish to choose not to have their implants replaced and this is an increasingly common request.
Following removal of the implant the shape of the breast changes, leading to a deflated appearance, with the nipple often dropping below the level of the breast crease. Uplift surgery moves the nipple back to its ideal position and any excess skin is removed to reshape the breast mound restoring the shape of the breast.
Implant removal and breast uplift surgery require an overnight stay in the hospital and pre-operative assessment prior to surgery.
